Maw Sit Sit is a vibrant, deep green gemstone found exclusively in the northern regions of Myanmar (Burma). Often mistaken for jade, this rare material is sometimes referred to as “Jade-Albite” or “Chrome Jade” due to its high chromium content and its rich, glossy green coloration.

Though visually similar to jadeite, maw sit sit is a distinct mineral aggregate composed of multiple constituents, including kosmochlor, jadeite, and albite. Its rarity and bold appearance make it highly prized by collectors and artisans alike—especially when cut and polished into cabochons or carvings.
