Rhodochrosite: The Inca Rose of the Andes

Known for its vibrant pink-to-rose hues and banded formations, rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate mineral treasured by both collectors and lapidary artisans. Sometimes called “Rosa del Inca” or Inca Rose, the stone is steeped in South American lore and admired for its natural beauty.

First identified in the silver mines of Romania, rhodochrosite often forms in hydrothermal veins alongside other manganese minerals in low-temperature ore deposits. Today, some of the finest banded specimens are mined in Capillitas, Argentina, showcasing intricate layers of pink, white, and soft beige.

This collection features hand-selected rhodochrosite specimens and jewelry, chosen for their banding, polish quality, and color intensity.

10% of every purchase supports environmental foundations in regions where rhodochrosite is sourced.
