CharoiteĀ is a rareĀ silicate mineral, first described in 1978 and named for theĀ Chara River.Ā It has been reported only from theĀ Aldan Shield,Ā Sakha Republic, Siberia, Russia.Ā It is found where aĀ syeniteĀ of theĀ Murun MassifĀ has intruded into and alteredĀ limestoneĀ deposits producing aĀ potassium feldsparĀ metasomatite.
