Background:
The Lady Annabella Mine (Eastgate, Weardale) began surface exploration in July 2020 in the last highly mineralized bench of the old Eastgate Quarry. Previously known as the Blue Circle Cement Quarry, the site has been producing fine fluorite specimens since the 1960s.
Weardale is world-famous for its emerald-green fluorites with strong fluorescence. Along with Rogerley, Diana Maria, and Heights mines, Eastgate specimens are prized for their color variety (green, yellow, violet, lilac, rose-pink) and unique color zoning.

Note for collectors: Mining operations at Lady Annabella have now ceased as of June 2023, making these fluorite specimens increasingly scarce and highly desirable on the collector market.

Impact:
10% of this purchase supports the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) [EU].
